01 Agreement to Terms
By creating an account or using LetterForLater, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use our service.
These terms apply to all users of our digital legacy letter service, including free and premium subscribers.

Service Levels

Important We provide the platform and delivery system, but you are responsible for the content and timing of your letters.

04 Content Ownership & Rights
You Own Your Content
You retain full ownership of all letters, media, and content you create. We never claim ownership of your personal messages.
License to Us
To provide our service, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and encrypt your letters securely
- Deliver messages according to your schedule
- Process verification requests with trusted contacts
- Provide technical support when requested

06 Digital Estate Management
Deactivation Protocol
Unlike standard services that purge data immediately, we offer a suspension protocol. You may deactivate your account to pause access while preserving your letters in our secure vault until you choose to reactivate.

Archive Protocol
In accordance with our commitment to Data Sovereignty, you retain the right to export your entire digital estate. You may request a complete, secure archive of your content at any time.

Permanent Account Erasure
If you choose to permanently erase your account, all letters, media, and encryption keys will be purged from our active systems. Due to the sensitive nature of legacy data, this action requires multi-factor confirmation and is irreversible.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms, including fraudulent activity or non-payment of premium services.
07 Service Continuity & Wind-Down
You are trusting us to hold something for a long time. These are the commitments we make about what happens if we can no longer do that.
Notice before any wind-down
If we decide to discontinue the service, we will give at least 90 days' written notice by email to every account holder with undelivered letters, sent to the address on the account.
Every undelivered letter is released to its author
Before the service ends, we will send the full contents of every undelivered letter to the account that wrote it, in a readable format, regardless of its scheduled delivery date and regardless of plan. Letters are never deleted without being returned to you first.
Export is always available, not only at the end
You can download a complete copy of all your letters at any time from your account settings, on any plan, without contacting us. We would rather you always hold your own copy than depend on our continued existence.
Lifetime plans
"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the service. If the service is discontinued, lifetime purchases made within the preceding 12 months will be refunded on a pro-rata basis, and the release commitment above applies to every letter regardless.
These commitments do not apply where circumstances make them impossible (for example insolvency proceedings that remove our control of the service), but they represent what we will do in every situation within our control.
